The Lian Street entrance is getting nice and wide. Please remember to park on the street, and not in the apartment parking lot.
Bob has groomed everything again, and he reports that the skate surface is much firmer today. Use caution when in Kingswood; there are snowblowers out starting the early season golf course preparation.
Bob is going to groom and set track today. .
Update: Kingswood is finished - groomed and trackset. Bob is headed to the Woodlot now. Classic conditions are excellent, skate conditions are good, but the surface is a bit on the soft side. Bob won’t be finished grooming and tracksetting everything until about 1:00, but there is lots of good skiing already. Enjoy!
Rex and Brian will start rolling at 1:00pm on Tuesday. Go ahead and ski anytime - you won’t hurt anything.
Bob is out grooming now (Saturday morning) and everything will be touched up by mid-morning. Conditions should be excellent today. Rex is planning on going out tomorrow morning to try to mix in the new snow.
Update: Bob is done and the trails are looking great!
Bob has been out working on cleaning up the trails after the windstorm. There is still some debris, but it is looking much better. He should be all done by 3:00.
The high winds over the past couple of days caused substantial drifting, especially in Kingswood, and covered the trails in debris. Bob has started the remedial work by breaking some of the drifts and clearing some downed branches. He will do more work tomorrow and hopes to get the trails back into more reasonable shape.
Bob and Rex were out grooming all morning. The Woodlot is groomed and trackset and has turned out well, with a fairly firm surface, though with some drifting in a few spots. The strong wind has played havoc in Kingswood, which is groomed but very drifted. The blowing snow made it impossible to set classic tracks in Kingswood.
The trails were rolled today, and Bob and Rex will get out tomorrow (Tuesday) to groom the trails. They will probably not set classic tracks in Kingswood, due the wind - the tracks would blow in almost immediately - but they will aim to set classic track in the Woodlot.
Rex and Donat will start rolling around noon on Monday. Go ahead and ski anytime, but conditions will likely be soft and slow.
Bob will do a touch-up of the trails first thing in the morning. It was a great day for skiing today, and we should have more again tomorrow until the snow gets too heavy.
Update: Bob got up early. Trails are all ready to go.
Rex and Bob rolled, groomed and trackset everything yesterday. Bob will touch up the skate surface this morning. Conditions should be very good for both skate and classic.
Update: All groomed and trackset.
There will be no grooming tomorrow (Thursday) because of the snow. If the forecast holds, Rex and Brian will get out on Friday to roll the trails. Ski anytime if you want - with the low temperatures, it won’t hurt anything.
Bob is out doing a quick touch-up. The trails are turning out well.
A couple of years ago we cut a rustic trail through the woods from Stonehinge to the Kent Road. The ground is rough and it needs a lot of snow before we can get the sled through, but today Rex managed to open it up. No tracks set, and definitely not suitable for skating, but if you are looking for a narrow peaceful trail through the woods, this might be for you.
Rex and Bob are almost done going over everything. they’ll be done by 11:00am, in plenty of time for the lunch crowd. The trails are turning out well - it’s cold, but the trails should be fast.
Rex and Bob will be out with both ginzus tomorrow, to touch up everything. Conditions were great today, and should be even better tomorrow.
Bob is out touching everything up. A lot is done now, and everything should be done by noon. Snow temperatures are cold right now, but should warm up, so judge your wax accordingly.
The Woodlot is all groomed and classic tracks have been set. It is turning out very nicely. Kingswood should be done soon.
Bob and Rex will be out with both ginzus tomorrow morning. Everything should be skiable by 10-11am. They’ll have to wait until they get out there to decide if it’s possible to set classic track
