NB Championships – The last NB Cup race of the year will be held in Tracadie on Saturday March 24. Hope to see our Wostawean Racers out for this event. RACE NOTICE AVAILABLE HERE
Wostawea AGM – This year’s Wostawea AGM will be held at Communautaire Ste-Anne on Wednesday April 11 at 7 pm. We have had a busy season with lots of new initiatives and projects. Come on out and provide your own feedback, and thoughts for the future development of the club.
Trails: Both the Wostawea and Killarney trails are being groomed regularly, check conditions before you head out. It looks like spring is coming next week, so get out and ski while you can.
Killarney Lodge basement – will be open to club members from 1:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m on Saturday and Sunday March 24/25 weather permitting.
Wostawea Trails for Life Campaign – We’re really pleased to share that the Trails For Life Fundraising Campaign exceeded its ambitious goal of $150,000. Thanks to the generosity of 178 donors, a total of $155,269 has been raised to support cross-country skiing in our city. These funds will be earmarked for three Wostawea priorities: trail building, trail grooming, ski inventory & infrastructure. Updates on what has been accomplished to date, along with a list of donors on our Donor Wall will be included on the website shortly. If anyone would still like to make a donation you can donate online at http://sportnb.com/en/programs-services/nb-amateur-sport-fund or you can mail your donation to Trails For Life at 1017 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, E3B 7R7. If you’ve made a donation, you should have received your 2017 tax receipt from Sport NB by mail. If you have any questions about your 2017 tax receipt please contact us at email@example.com
Wostawea Racing Team Fund Raiser – The Wostawea Racing team is expanding, and with that comes additional costs for equipment, training, coaching etc. To meet this demand, Wostawea has partnered with the Fredericton Marathon. The Fredericton Marathon is looking for volunteers, and will make a donation to the Wostawea Racing team for each volunteer's time. Each shift is about 4-4.5 hours and they are offering $75/ shift. If you are interested in volunteering – and we hope you are – please visit https://raceroster.com/events/2018/14546/40th-annual-scotiabank-fredericton-marathon-race-weekend/volunteer and register as soon as possible. There they will ask you a few questions about availability, skills and preferences, so that we are able to match you with the right task for marathon weekend. Please indicate in the questions section that you are from Wostawea, that way they will allocate the funds accordingly. Thanks to those that offer to help out.
