Wostawea News - March 8, 2018

Hello Wostaweans!

Many of our programs have come to an end, but trail conditions are still in great conditions, and with the new snow forecast for today, we should have good skiing for several more weeks. Here are updates for the week:

Wostawea Youth and Adult ski programs – Thank you to Nathalie Comeau and all the coaches and volunteers for helping to create another great Funday. Also, thank you to all the coaches involved with both the youth and adult learn to ski programs this year. We had several new initiatives this year, coupled with tremendous growth in enrollment. We hope to see everyone out again next year. If you are interested in coaching next year, please let me know. We are constantly looking for new coaches to meet the demand of our expanding programs. There are several coach training initiatives available for potential coaches.

Senior Ski – Senior Ski is CANCELLED for today due to the storm. We hope to continue for the next two Thursdays, weather permitting. Please contact Margaret at 474-1608 if you have any questions.

NB Maritime Nordic Marathon – Seven Wostaweans took part in the NB Maritime Nordic Marathon last weekend. Congratulations to the five that completed the 42 km course.

NB Championships – The last NB Cup race of the year will be held in Tracadie on Saturday March 24. Hope to see our Wostawean Racers out for this event. RACE NOTICE AVAILABLE HERE

Trails are in great condition. Both the Wostawea and Killarney trails are being groomed regularly, check conditions before you head out. Best skiing this time of year is usually in the late morning, before trails get too soft.
