With our snowfall today – Wostawea will be in high gear for the next little while. Here are this week's updates. 


Wostawea Ski Programs

Wostawea Jackrabbit and beginner adult lessons start at 10 am sharp at Killarney lake, be there a bit early to get your ski gear on. All registration is now closed.

Help Needed

The adult classic ski lesson program on Saturday morning (beginners, classic technique) needs helpers to assist our dedicated leaders.  If you can classic ski, you can help our leaders develop new skiers!

Lunar Ski Thursday January 14th 7:00 pm at Killarney Lake

Come out and enjoy a lunar ski on the lovely new snow. Meet at the Killarney Lake Lodge parking lot. Bring a headlamp, if you have one. A limited number of headlamps available to borrow. Tour starts at 7:00pm and last about an hour and a half. There are some headlamps available, bring your own if you have one. Wostawea Trails (UNB Woodlot and Kingswood)

Trail conditions will improve quickly over the next couple of days with all this snow.

Also, please remember that Wostawea books the Killarney Lake lower level basement, four days a week. During these times, this space is available for all Wostaweans to use to change your gear, get out of the cold, or use the bathroom. 

The Killarney Lake Lodge Basement is open on:

Tuesday – 4 pm to 7 pm

Thursday – 4 pm to 7 pm

Saturday – 9:30am to 4:30 pm

Sunday – 1 pm to 4:30 pm

First NB Cup races – January 16 and 17 in Charlo

Our own Wostawea Fredericton NB Cup race is the following Saturday, January 23 and the Wostawea Loppet Sunday January 24 at Killarney Lake. Both events are classic technique. Invitation, and registration information will be coming out soon. I hope to see all Wostaweans out this weekend, and participating in either or both of the events. 

Wostawea Jackets  - Last Chance - Order due by Friday January 15

The deadline to order a new Wostawea jacket has been extended to end-of-day Friday January 15, 2016 we need one more men’s jacket ordered, to meet the minimum requirements for Louis Garneau.

Available in both men and women’s styles, this jacket fits superbly and is a great way of promoting our club on the New Brunswick ski trails. See the attached poster for more information on the jacket’s main features.
