Hello Wostaweans. We are already half way through November and our ski season will soon be upon us.  The Wostawea execs and volunteers have been working hard over the summer to make our skiing experience this winter even better. See below for upcoming activities, and club information.

Wostawea Market Booth – Wostawea will have an information booth at the Fredericton Farmers Market this coming Saturday November 19 from 7am to 1pm.  Peta Fussell is looking for volunteers to help staff the booth. ACOA Announcement at Killarney Lake – The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, in partnership with the City of Fredericton and Wostawea Cross Country Ski Club, have a very special announcement to make at Killarney Lake Lodge on Friday, December 2 at 11 am. All Wostawea members and other cross country ski enthusiasts in the City are encouraged to attend.

Wostawea Open House – Sunday December 4, 2-4 pm at Killarney Lake Lodge. Mark this on your calendar, lots of new initiatives for the 2017 season. Get registered and get in the loop on what is going on. Wostawea blue long-sleeve sporty t-shirts will be for sale at the Open House. Sizes XS to XL and the price is $25.

Wostawea Racing team – The Wostawea Racing team has been training hard this Fall in preparation for the race season. However, it is never too late to join. All competitive skiers from age 10 and up can join. Please contact Eric Luiker for more info: maer@nb.sympatico.ca

Masters Ski Group – prep for Nationals. - This February, 2017, the Masters Nationals will be held in Charlo, New Brunswick. Wostawea wants to have a good showing at this event, and is looking for competitive skiers 30 years and older to train as a group. Please contact Eric Luiker for more info: maer@nb.sympatico.ca

Wostawea to host Maritime Cup – January 21-22, 2017 – the Maritime Cup is the largest interprovincial race held in Atlantic Canada, and the biggest competitive event Wostawea has hosted in the past 20 years. This is a big deal for the club, and we anticipate great participation from our athletes and volunteers. More info as we get close to the event.

For those that are dryland training, keep up the hard work, and for those that have been thinking about it, get out and do it. Nordic hiking, roller skiing, trail running – a great way to get ready for the ski season, and to enjoy our wonderful "pre-snow" autumn.
