Wostawea News - February 10, 2016

Hello Wostaweans. Snow is back and Killarney and the Wostawea Trails are both groomed and ready to go.  Great Weekend for the NB Provincial team at the Easterns, with several medals, including 3 gold for our very own Louis Fortin!!! Our Junior Racers are off to Joliette this weekend for the Noram Midget Championships – Good luck team!!!

Lunar Ski –  Thursday, February 11 - 7 pm at Kingswood (meet by the Golf Lodge – Sam Sneads). This is a make up for our cancellation next week. Michel Poirier will be the group lead.

Wostawea Jackrabbit and adult learn to ski program – Lessons as per usual 10 am at Killarney Lake Park. Please consider bringing a snack for the hot chocolate break.

Wostawea Trails (UNB Woodlot and Kingswood) -  Since our last two snowfalls, conditions have greatly improved at both Killarney and Kingswood. Please check the blog site for trail condition updates: http://unbwoodlotski.blogspot.ca

Please note: The Killarney Lake trails are owned and operated by the City of Fredericton, and they groom trails for the benefit of cross country skiers, many of which are Wostaweans. These are multi use trails for all to enjoy, including hikers, snowshoers fat bikers etc. Please respect their right to use these trail. We want to encourage as many people as possible to get out and enjoy this wonderful park, regardless of their mode of transportation.

Tuesday – 4 pm to 7 pm

Thursday – 4 pm to 7 pm

Saturday – 9:30 am to 4:30 pm

Sunday – 1 pm  to 4:30 pm

Tour du Canada – March 1 to 12. The World Cup skiers are coming to Canada, including Quebec City, Montreal, Gatineau and Canmore. Please let us know if you are planning on attending any of these events. Maybe this could become a Wostawea group event.                 http://skitourcanada.com/en/
