Wostawea News - March 16, 2016

Hello Wostaweans. Wow, quick end to an up and down year for snow conditions. Just a couple of updates.

Snowtacular Year End Celebration – Thanks to all that participated at the Wostawea Snowtacular celebration. Special thanks go out to Peta Fussell, John Ball and Nathalie Comeau and their volunteer team for all of their handwork in getting ready for this event.

Wostawea – AGM April 20 – Communautaire Ste-Anne – This is the time to find out more about the club and make your voice heard with suggestions and comments. We have lots of new and exciting initiatives. Also, we are always looking for volunteers on the Executive. This year we are looking for a new Secretary. If you are interested, please let me know by email.

Wostawea Trails (UNB Woodlot and Kingswood) – Wostawea and Killarney Lake trails are no longer being groomed. The racing team got out for a ski on the inner loop on the Wostawea/UNB Woodlot Trails yesterday – with some snow coming tomorrow, it maybe skiable this weekend. Please check the blog site for trail condition updates: http://unbwoodlotski.blogspot.ca

We have cancelled Killarney Lake Lodge for the rest of the season.

Other Events – NB Cup – Provincial Championships in Charlo – Saturday, April 2. Hope to see all the competitive Wostaweans here in Charlo for the last race of the year, followed by the NB Cup Banquet. Wostawea is hoping to three-peat on the NB Cup. The Cup is given to the Club with the most points collected over the season. Points are given for participation, and your ranking during the race, so please come out and support the club. The race notice and invitation aren't out yet, check here in a week or two. http://www.xcski-nb.ca/en/

Let's hope for next winter to provide us with lots of snow. Have a great "offseason".
