Wostawea News - December 21, 2017

Merry Christmas Wostaweans!!! Great to have “pre Christmas” snow. Grooming at the Wostawea and Killarney Trails has begun, so get out and ski before Santa's reindeer mess up the ski tracks.

Trail Grooming over the Holidays Grooming has already started on the Wostawea and Killarney Trails, with both areas having good conditions for this early in the season. The City will continue to groom this week, and will try to groom on Christmas Eve, weather permitting. They will start again after the Christmas break on Dec 27th, and have committed to grooming over the remainder of the holidays. There is not enough snow yet to bring out our new Pisten Bully, however with the new snow that we are predicting, we should see it up in operation early in the New Year. The City will enhance their grooming schedule at Killarney this year, with more frequent grooming during the week, and an additional grooming session on Sunday mornings, as well as after major snow events.

As always when we have even the smallest amount of snow, the Wostawea trails are already groomed and tracked, and in good shape. Thanks to the wonderful donations to the Wostawea Trails for Life Fund last year, our Wostawea groomers will be receiving a new snowmobile just in time for Christmas.

Please check the Wostawea website under “Trail Conditions” for most upt o date information. There will be some changes to this site in the new year, as the City and Wostawea partner to get trail information updated on a regular basis.
