Wow, what a change in snow conditions, should be great skiing this weekend. Here are this weeks updates.
Wostawea Programs (Jackrabbit, Track Attack and Adult) – Regular classes this Saturday, February 10 at 10 am for all groups.
Seniors’ Ski – The first senior ski will be held on Wednesday Feb 15 at Killarney Lake. 1:30 – 4 pm. Classic or skate or both, whatever each skier prefers, of course. Meet in the downstairs ski room at 1:30 to decide what trails people want to ski, wax, etc. Bring your own mug or cup for a hot drink after skiing. Please contact Margaret Wicken if you have any questions, or if you need a ride. (firstname.lastname@example.org). Anyone who can offer a ride to others should also let Margaret know, so she can keep track.
Lunar Ski – Next Lunar Ski Tour will be at Killarney Lake at 7pm on Thursday February 23, 2017. Meet at the Rotary Lodge at Killarney Lake, 1600 St. Mary's Street, Fredericton. There are some headlamps available, but please bring your own if you have one. The ski tour will last approximately an hour and a half. Skate Ski Lessons – Second skate ski lesson is coming up, I hope you have been working on your balance drills, skiing with no poles and using those back muscles when double poling!. Again this week, I'll give a beginner/intermediate lesson in the morning (10am-12pm) and an intermediate lesson in the afternoon (1pm-3pm). These will be groups of 10, registration is on first come first serve The lessons are 2 hours and it will be a mix drills moving towards more specific techniques. Cost will be 15$/person.

Sunday Ski Tour – Saint John River Island Tour - Sunday, February 19 – Wostawea club members are invited on a ski tour around the beautiful Saint John River islands led by "Big Bunny" Dave Palmer. Join us afterwards for some good conversation, hot chocolate and potluck nibblies. Stay tuned for timing and directions.
Wostawea Loppet – Wostawea will be hosting a Loppet at the Killarney Lake Trails on Sunday February 26, 2017. Stay tuned for more details!

New Brunswick did very well last weekend at the Eastern Championships, held in Gatineau, with a total of six medals (3 gold, 3 silver). Good performances by our Wostawea racers, included one gold and two silver for Louis Fortin.
